In 2013, Werner Herzog made a documentary about the Routier case called On Death Row. It is far from over and the prosecutor’s misconduct should be condemned until there is redress. 

As a Canadian, I have always been extremely proud of the fact that we don’t have the death penalty. Our institutions feed their inmates correctly and have a decent reputation. I cringe at the idea of the tent city jail in Arizona, where Sheriff Arpaio prides himself on keeping inmates in outdoor tents with hardly any ventilation and substandard food.

Convicted murderer and former Toronto police officer, Richard Wills, killed his ex-girlfriend Lavinia (Linda) Mariani in February 2002, and was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2007.

Lisa Lam was a 21-year-old Canadian tourist who was found dead in a downtown Los Angeles hotel’s rooftop water tank in February 2013. Lam was from Vancouver, British Columbia and had traveled alone to Los Angeles on January 26, 2013, intending to stay a few days before making her way to Santa Cruz, California.

Strange that at times with our Criminal Justice system, we wonder on what side the real unrepentant criminal is.
